Investment strategy, and the setting of asset allocation, should be driven by the expected development of a scheme's liabilities and the level of investment risk acceptable to the trustees.
Implementation separately addresses how best to execute any required changes to investment strategy in light of the current investments, levels of the various investment markets (on an historical basis, relative to each other and mindful of the outlook for each asset class) and the potential appointment of alternative fund managers.
However, we do not believe in change for change's sake. Where change is necessary, we will work with all parties to identify the most efficient implementation methods, including “in-specie” stock transfers, novation of holdings and opportunities for crossing. In particular, for all transactions, we minimise out of market risk to preserve asset capital values.
